Welcome to The Prince of Wales, a beautiful 16th Century Cornish country pub on the Lizard Peninsula which has been lovingly restored with a wonderful welcoming log fire to keep you warm whilst eating or drinking with us on colder days or try eating and drinking in our lovely garden in the summer.
Prince of Wales is a Cornish pub well known for its warm and welcoming atmosphere, traditional interiors, and a range of local ciders, ales and beers. In our classic pub menu we offer fish and chips, pasties, and pies. Some Friday and Saturday nights we host live music events.
Our Kitchen Team are passionate about good fresh food. They use the finest fresh Cornish produce from nearby farms and fishing ports that they can find to produce great food and freshly prepare it in our kitchens daily. Your meal can be accompanied by our fine selection of wines and Cornish Ales and Lagers or you can try some of the local Helford Creek lemonade or elderflower. If you have a special dietary requirement we can usually accomodate it if you let us know when booking a table.
Many of our guests travel down from London and the South East for a few quiet nights on the Lizard — dinner by the fire, a room upstairs, or a pitch on the camping field — and just as often head back to the capital after a Cornish break with salty air still in their coats.
Sometimes the journey is more than a weekend bag. Guests who keep a foothold in the city while they stay with us in Newtown often ask about practical London logistics: clearing a flat before a longer B&B visit, or shifting furniture once camping season ends and they return inland.
